Ein Ceidwad yw yr Iesu gwiw

Ein Ceidwad yw yr Iesu gwiw,
  A phwy sy'n debyg iddo?
Mae'i garad mawr at
    deulu'r llwr,
  Heb drai na therfyn arno:
Mae Ef yn nglŷn ag achos dyn,
  Heb ball ar ei fyddlondeb
O'r "Wele fi," a'r "angon Fi,"
  Yn moreu tragwyddoldeb.

O ryfedd ras!
    mewn awedd gwas
Daeth Ef i'r byd i'n cadw,
Mab Duw ei hun dros euog ddyn,
Ar bren y groes fu farw,
Angelion nef a'u molant Ef,
  Fel Brenin a Chreawdwr,
Ond eiddo'r saint
    yw'r uchel fraint
  O'i foli fel Iachawdwr.

Tôn [8787D]: Ein Ceidwad yw
(John Henry Roberts [Pencerdd Gwynedd] 1848-1924)

Our Saviour is the worthy Jesus,
And who is similar to him?
His great love is towards
    the family of the earth,
Without ebbing or boundary to it:
He is connected with the cause of man,
  Without fading to his faithfulness
From the "Here am I," and the "send Me,"
  In the eternal morning.

Oh, amazing grace,
in the attitude of a servant
He came to the world to save us,
He came himself for guilty man,
On the wood of the cross he died,
The angels of heaven shall praise Him,
  As King and Creator,
But to the saints
     belongs the high privilege
  Of praising him as Saviour.
tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion
