Er wylo wrth lafurio 'nawr

(Tâl am y llafur)
Er wylo wrth lafurio 'nawr,
  Rhyw lwyddiant mawr a welir;
Y rhai sy'n hau y gwerthfawr had,
  Yn mhob rhyw wlad fendithir.

Er llawer cawod oer a chwith,
  Bydd bendith ar lafurio;
A thâl i lafur dydd a nos,
  Er tywydd croes ac wylo.

Pan ddelo'r holl ysgubau 'nghyd,
  Bydd hyfryd a'r galonau
Y rhai a welwyd lawer awr
  Yn wylo i lawr y dagrau.
Richard Jones ?1771-1833

(Payment for the labour)
Although weeping while labouring now,
  Some great prosperity is to be seen;
Those who are sowing the precious seed,
  In every kind of land are to be blessed.

Despite many a cold and awkward shower,
  There shall be blessing on labouring;
And payment for labour day and night,
  Despite contrary weather and weeping.

When all the sheaves come together,
  It will be delightful with the hearts
Of those who were seen many an hour
  Weeping down the tears.
