Fel pererin Iesu mawr

Fel pererin, Iesu mawr,
  Blin, a gwael fy ngwedd,
Gad im' fwrw maich i lawr
  I Dy newydd fedd;
Wedi cario'r groes cyhyd,
Am Dy fynwes mae fy mryd,
Byddaf yno'n wyn fy myd,
  Yn Dy ddwyfol hedd.

Mae rhinweddau Calfari
  Eto mewn parhad;
Ac mae yno hawl i mi,
  I fy hen ystad;
Wedi dal i grwydro'n hir,
Yn y nos mewn anial dir,
Gad im ' eto weld yn glir
  Dyrau Tŷ fy Nhad.

Like a pilgrim, great Jesus,
  Weary, and of a poor condition,
Let me cast my burden down
  At thy new grave;
After carrying the cross so long,
On thy bosom is my attention,
There I shall be truly blessed,
  In thy divine peace.

The merits of Calvary
  Are still enduring;
And there is a right for me there,
  To my old estate;
Having continued to wander long,
In the night in a desert land,
Let me again see clearly
  The towers of my Father's house.
