Filwyr Iesu, wele arwydd
  Yn y nefoedd draw;
Nerthoedd newydd sy'n dynesu,
  Concwest sydd gerllaw;

    Daliwch afael, medd yr Iesu,
      "Deuaf atoch chi";
    Bloeddiwn ninau'n ol "Ni'n ddaliwn
      Yn dy allu di."

Lluoedd Satan, arfog fyddin,
  Sydd yn agoshau;
Dewrion wŷr o'n cylch sy'n sythio,
  Ninau 'mron llesgau:

    Daliwch afael ...

Gwelwch faner Iesu'n chwifio,
  Clywch yr udgorn clir;
Llwyr orchfygwn bob gelynion
  Trwyddo cyn bo hir.

    Daliwch afael ...

Maith a chaled yw'r ymdrechfa,
  Ond cawn nerth wrth raid;
Daw yn mlaen ein cadarn Lywydd,
  Cymer ef ein plaid.

Soldiers of Jesus, see a sign
  In yonder heaven!
New strengths are drawing near,
  Victory is at hand;

    Keep hold, Jesus says,
      "I am coming to you";
    We shout back "We are holding
      In thy power."

Satan's hosts, an armed army,
  Are approaching;
Brave men around us are falling,
  We are almost fainting:

    Keep hold ...

See the flag of Jesus fluttering,
  Hear the clear trumpet!
We shall overcome all enemies
  Through him before long.

    Keep hold ...

Long and hard is the campaign,
  But we may obtain strength at need;
Our firm Leader comes forth,
  He will take our side.

    Keep hold ...

Ho, my comrades! see the signal
  Waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing,
  Victory is nigh.

    "Hold the fort, for I am coming,"
       Jesus signals still;
    Wave the answer back to Heaven,
      "By Thy grace we will."

See the mighty host advancing,
  Satan leading on;
Mighty ones around us falling,
  Courage almost gone!

    "Hold the fort ...

See the glorious banner waving!
  Hear the trumpet blow!
In our leader’s name we triumph
  Over ev’ry foe.

    "Hold the fort ...

Fierce and long the battle rages,
  But our help is near;
Onward comes our great commander,
  Cheer, my comrades, cheer!
