Fe wrendy Duw ar weddi'r gwael, A rhydd yn hael i'w blant; 'Sgrifennir hyn i'r oes sy'n ol, A'i ganmol ef a gânt. O uchaf fan ei gyssegr fry Y trodd ei lygaid lawr; I'r ddaear hon o nef y nef Yr edrych ef yn awr: I glywed cri carcharwyr caeth Gan flinder maith sy'n brudd; I wrando cŵyn plant angau glas, A'u rhoi, o'i ras, yn rhydd. Fel y cyd-leisiont hwy yn llon Ei fawl yn Sďon lân; Ac yng Nghaersalem, dinas hedd, Drugaredd Duw ar gân. Casgliad o Salmau a Hymnau (Daniel Rees) 1831 [Mesur: MC 8686]

God listens to the prayer of the poor, And gives generously to his children; This is written for the age which is following, And they may praise him. From the highest place of his sanctuary above He turns his eyes down; To this earth from the heaven of heaven He looks now: To hear the cry of the captive prisoners Who with great grief are sad; To hear the complaint of the children of utter death, And set them, of his grace, free. Thus may they voice together cheerfully His praise in holy Zion; And in Jerusalem, the city of peace, The mercy of God in song. tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion |
17 When he regards the poor's request, nor slights their earnest pray'r; 18 Our sons, for this recorded grace, shall his just praise declare. 19 For God, from his abode on high, his gracious beams displayed: The Lord from heav'n, his lofty throne, has all the earth surveyed. 20 He listened to the captives' moans, he heard their mournful cry, And freed by his resistless pow'r the wretches doomed to die. 21 That they in Zion, where he dwells, might celebrate his fame, And through the holy city sing loud praises to his Name.
