Fendigedig Iesu

Fendigedig Iesu,
  Ti yw'r Bugail mwyn;
Cofia yn yr anial
  Am dy dyner ŵyn;
Rhag bywstfilod rheibus
  Rodiant yn y byd,
Cadw ni'n wastadol
  Yn dy gorlan glyd.

    Fendigedig Iesu,
      Ti yw'r Bygail mwyn;
    Cofia yn yr anial
      Am dy dyner ŵyn.

Fendigedig Iesu,
  Er nad ŷm ond gwan,
Y mae gennym ninnau
  Yn dy deyrnas ran:
Ti, a fu yn faban
  Gynt ar fronnau Mair,
Dysg i ninnau yfed
  Didwyll laeth y Gair.

Fendigedig Iesu,
  Brenin mawr y plant
Gwna bob un ohonom
  Ni yn ufudd sant;
Boed dy fendith arnom
  Yn yr Ysgol Sul:
A'th arweiniad inni
  Ar y llwybyr cul.

  Fendigedig Iesu (John Thomas Rees 1857-1949)

Blessed Jesus,
  Thou art the gentle Shepherd;
Remember in the desert
  Thy tender lambs;
From the predatory beasts
  Which roam in the world
Keep us continuously
  In thy secure sheepfold.

    Blessed Jesus,
      Thou art the gentle Shepherd;
    Remember in the desert
      Thy tender lambs.

Blessed Jesus,
  Although we are but weak,
There is for us too
  In thy kingdom a part:
Thou, who wast a baby
  Once on Mary's breasts,
Teach us too to drink
  The sincere milk of the word.

Blessed Jesus,
  Great King of the children
Make every one of us
  Into an obedient saint;
May thy blessing be upon us
  In the Sunday School:
And thy leading for us
  On the narrow path.
tr. 2014 Richard B Gillion
