Fy enaid deffro c'od

(Hiraeth am y Drigfan Fry)
Fy enaid, deffro, c'ôd,
  A ffo tu a'r hyfryd wlad:
Nid oes yn dim yma dan y rhôd
  Le sicyr dan dy draed:
Ar aden ffydd yr âf
  Tu a'r ddinas noddfa fry;
Ni's gall' y ddaear, a'i holl dda
  Fyth ddifa cariad cu.

Y ddinas uwch y byd,
  Preswylfa Duw ei hun;
Mae'r seraph pûr, a'r saint ynghyd,
  Yn moli'r Tri yn Un:
'Bryd daw y ddedwydd awr,
  I'm dwyn o'r byd a'i boen;
I blith y dorf aneirif fawr,
  Sy'n awr yn canu i'r Oen.

             - - - - -

Fy enaid, deffro, c'od,
  A ffo i'r hyfryd wlad;
Nid oes yn unman îs y rhod
  Le sicyr dan dy draed.
Ar aden ffydd yr âf
  I'r drigfan nefol fry;
Nis gall y ddaear, a'i holl dda,
  Foddloni f'enaid cu.

Mewn dinas uwch y byd,
  Preswylfa Duw ei hun,
Seraffiaid pur, a saint yn nghyd,
  Sy'n moli'r Tri yn Un.
Bryd daw y ddedwydd awr
  I'm dwyn o'r byd a'i boen,
I blith y dorf aneirif fawr
  Sy'n awr yn moli'r Oen!

Tôn [MBD 6686D]: Ymofyniad (<1876)

(Longing for the Dwelling Above)
My soul, awake, arise,
  And flee towards the delightful land:
There is nothing here under the sky
  A secure place under thy feet:
On wings of faith I shall go
  Towards the city of refuge above;
This earth cannot, with all its goods
  Ever destroy dear love.

The city above the world,
  The dwelling of God himself;
The pure seraph, and all the saints, are
  Praising the Three in One:
When shall the happy hour come,
  To take me from the world and its pain;
Amongst the great unnumbered throng,
  Who are now singing to the Lamb?

                 - - - - -

My soul, awake, arise,
  And flee to the delightful land;
There is nowhere beneath the sky
  A safe place under thy feet.
And wings of faith I will go
  To the heavenly dwelling above;
The earth cannot, with all its stock,
  Satisfy my dear soul.

In a city above the world,
  The dwelling-place of God himself,
Pure seraphs, and saints together,
  Are praising the Three in On.
when will come the happy hour
  To take me from the world and its pain,
To the midst of the great unnumbered throng
  Who are now praising the Lamb?
tr. 2010,19 Richard B Gillion
