Fy ngorchwyl yn y byd

Fy ngorchwyl yn y byd
  Yw gogoneddu Duw
A gwylio dros fy enaid drud
  Yn ddiwyd tra bwyf byw.

Fe'm galwyd gan fy Nuw
  I wasanaethu f'oes;
Boed im ymroi i'r gwaith, a byw
  I'r Gŵr fu ar y groes.

Rho nerth, O Dduw, bob dydd
  I rodio ger dy fron,
I ddyfal ddilyn llywbrau'r ffydd
  Wrth deithio'r ddaear hon.

Rhof arnat ti fy mhwys
  Rhag imi wyro o'm lle;
Dysg im weddïo a gwylio'n ddwys
  Nes gorffwys yn y ne'.

My assignment in the world
  Is to glorify God
And to look after my precious soul
  Diligently while ever I live.

I was called by God
  To serve my age;
May I apply myself to the work, and live
  To the man who was on the cross.

Give strength, O God, every day
  To walk close to thy breast,
Diligently to follow the path of the faith
  While travelling this earth.

I will give to thee my burden
  Lest I should veer from my place;
Teach me to pray and watch intently
  Until I rest in heaven.

A charge to keep I have,
  A God to glorify,
A never-dying soul to save,
  And fit it for the sky.

To serve the present age,
  My calling to fulfill:
O may it all my powers engage
  To do my Master’s will!

Arm me with jealous care,
  As in Thy sight to live;
And O Thy servant, Lord, prepare
  A strict account to give!

Help me to watch and pray,
  And on Thyself rely,
Assured, if I my trust betray,
  I shall for ever die.
