Gogoniant fyddo i'th enw mawr
  Am ddod i brynu dyn,
A disgyn o dy lys i lawr
  I'th wneyd â mi yn un.

I anial pell y crwydrai'n traed
  Oddi wrthyt ti, O Dduw!
Ond yn ein natur fe dy gaed
  Mewn agwedd gwas yn byw.

Mewn cariad, Iesu, doist i lawr
  I'r byd o entrych ne';
Mewn cariad cwrddaist, do, â'r awr
  I farw yn fy lle. 

Mewn cariad gwisgaist goron ddrain,
  Y fantell goch, a'r cur;
Mewn cariad cym'raist bigau main
  Y llymion hoelion dur.

Daeth prynedigaeth gyda'th waed
  A lifodd ar y pren;
Gorphenaist iachawdwriaeth râd;
  Agoraist ddrws y nen.

Glory be to thy great name
  For coming to redeem man,
And descend from thy court down
  To make thee and me as one.

To a distant desert our feet wandered
  Away from thee, O God!
But in our nature thou wast found
  In the attitude of a servant living.

In love, Jesus, thou camest down
  To the world from the vault of heaven;
In love thou didst meet, yes, with the hour
  To die in my place.

In love thou didst wear a crown of thorns,
  The red robe, and the beating;
In love thou didst receive the fine points
  Of the sharp steel nails.

Redemption came with thy blood
  Which flowed upon the tree;
Thou didst finish free salvation;
  Thou didst open the door of the sky.
