Gwel f'enaid o dy flaen

(Edrych ar Iesu)
  Gwel, f'enaid o dy flaen,
    Dy D'wysog hardd ei hun!
  Yn nyfnder dw'r a thân,
    Heb ysgog ynddo glŷn;
Cadarnach yw ei air na chraig,
Fe saif er holl
     fwriadau'r ddraig.

  Edrychaf mwy trwy ffydd,
    Bob dydd ar Iesu mawr;
  Diflana yn ei wedd
    Bob tegwch
          fedd y llawr;
A nerthir f'ysbryd dan bob croes,
Wrth gofio am ei angeu loes.
Richard Jones ?1771-1833

Tôn [666688]: Carmel (E J Stephen 1822-85)

(Looking upon Jesus)
  See, my soul before thee,
    Thy beautiful Prince himself!
  In the depth of water and fire,
    Without shifting stick to him;
Firmer is his word than a rock,
He will stand despite all
      the intentions of the dragon.

  I will look evermore through faith,
    Every day upon great Jesus;
  In his countenance shall vanish
    Every fairness that
          the earth below possesses;
My spirit is strengthened
      under every cross,
By remembering his throes of death.
tr. 2023 Richard B Gillion
