Gogoniant byth i Frenin nef

(Gorffennwyd)
Gogoniant byth i Frenin nef
  Am ddolef buddugoliaeth;
Ar ben y bryn o dan y gwawd
  Gorffennwyd iachawdwriaeth.

Arfaethau gras ar Galfari
  Drwy'r llenni dorrodd allan;
A waed y cymod,
    digon yw
  I hawliau Duw Ei Hunan.

Gorffenwyd dioddef a thristau,
  Y croesau a'r trywanu;
A'r garwaf lid yn hedd a droes
  Yn ymyl croes yr Iesu.

Fe grynod creigiau daear lawr
  Dan bwys Ei fawr ochenaid;
A thalodd ar y mynydd llwm
  Ofynion trwm fy enaid.

Pan fyddo'r byd yn cilio draw,
  A brenin braw'n dynesu;
Mi gofiaf yn y garwaf hin
  Unigrwydd blin yr Iesu.

Gorffennwyd ffordd
    o'r anial fyd
  I ddwyn ynghyd y teulu;
Ond ni orffennir
    canu mwy
  Am farwol glwy' yr Iesu.

[Mesur: MS 8787]

(It is finished)
Glory forever to the King of heaven
  For a shout of victory;
On the top of the hill under the scorn
  Salvation was finished.

The purposes of grace on Calvary
  Through the curtain broke out;
And the blood of the covenant,
    sufficient it is
  For the claims of God Himself.

Suffering and sadnesses were finished,
  The crosses and the piercing;
And the roughest wrath turned to peace
  Beside the cross of Jesus.

The rocks of earth below trembled
  Under the weight of His great groans;
And he paid on the bare mountain
  The heavy demands of my soul.

When the world retreats yonder,
  An the king of terror approaches;
I shall ask in the roughest weather
  The grievous loneliness of Jesus.

Finished was the way
    out of the desert world
  To bring the family together;
But never to be finished
    is the singing evermore
  About the mortal wound of Jesus.
