Gras! peraidd sain yn para yw, I ddynolryw, plant Adda! O gân y llu nefolaidd llon I'r ddaear gron adseinia. Gras drefnodd ffordd i achub dyn, Er gwaeled llun oedd arno; A rhyfedd ras sydd yn mhob rhan O'r ddyfais anwyl hòno. Gras drodd y traed fu'n crwydro'n hir, I'r llwybr gwir tragwyddol; A gras sydd yn eu gwneyd yn gryf, Trwy gymhorth cyfamserol. Gras a gorona'r dwyfol waith A gwynfyd maith diddiwedd; Dwg allan y maen penaf oll, A chaiff yr holl anrhydedd.cyf. William Griffiths 1777-1825 [Mesur: MS 8787] gwelir: Gras O'r fath beraidd sain |
Grace! A sweet sound continuing it is, To humankind, the children of Adam! From the song of the cheerful, heavenly host To the round earth resounds. Grace arranged a way to save man, Despite how bad was the image on him; And wonderful grace is in every part Of this beloved scheme. Grace turned to feet that were wandering long, To the true, eternal paths; And grace is making them strong, Through timely help. Grace shall crown the divine worth With a vast, unending paradise; It will bring out the chief stone of all, Which shall get all the honour.tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion |
Grace, 'tis a charming sound, Harmonious to mine ear; Heaven with the echo shall resound, And all the earth shall hear. Grace first contrived the way To save rebellious man; And all the steps that grace display Which drew the wondrous plan. Grace led my roving feet To tread the heavenly road; And new supplies each hour I meet, While pressing on to God. Grace all the work shall crown, Through everlasting days; It lays in heaven the topmost stone, And well deserves the praise.1-3: 1740 Philip Doddridge 1702-51 4 : 1776 Augustus M Toplady 1740-78
