Gwisg dy gleddeu y'ngwasg dy glun

(SALM XLV)
Gwisg dy gleddeu y'ngwasg dy glun,
  O gadarn Gūn gogonedd:
A hyn sydd weddol a hardd iawn,
  Mewn llwydd a llawn orfoledd.

Marchog ar air y gwir yn rhwydd,
  Lledneisrwydd a chyfiawnedd,
A'th law ddehau di a ā drwy,
  Bethau ofnadwy rhyfedd.

A thanat ti pobloedd a syrth,
  Gan wyrth dy saethau llymion;
Briwant hwy,
    a glynant yn glau,
  Ym mronau dy elynion.

Coffaf dy enw di ym mhob oes,
  Tra caffwyf einioes imi:
Am hyn y bobloedd a rydd fawl,
  Byth yn dragwyddawl i ti.

(Psalm 45)
Wear thy sword against thy thigh,
  O firm Lord of glory:
And this which is fitting and very splendid,
  In success and full jubilation.

Ride on the word of truth readily,
  In meekness and justice,
With thy right hand which will go through,
  Terrible, wonderful things.

And under thee peoples shall fall,
  With the wonder of thy sharp arrows;
They will wound,
    and they will stick fast,
  In the breasts of thy enemies.

I will remember thy name in every age,
  While ever I have life:
Therefore the peoples shall give praise,
  Forever eternally to thee.
tr. 2017 Richard B Gillion
(PSAL. XLV.)
 3 Gird on thy sword, most mighty prince;
     and, clad in rich array,
   With glorious ornaments of pow'r
     majestic pomp display.

 4 Ride on in state, and still protect
     the meek, the just, and true;
   Whilst thy right hand with swift revenge
     does all thy foes pursue.

 5 How sharp thy weapons are to them,
     that dare thy pow'r despise!
   Down, down they fall,
       while through their heart
     the feathered arrow flies.

17 Whilst this my song to future times
     transmits thy glorious Name;
   And makes the world, with one consent,
     thy lasting praise proclaim.
