Haul a Tharian pererinion

(Haul a Tharian)
Haul a Tharian pererinion
  Ydwyt Ti, fy Iesu mawr;
Mae tywyllwch a phryderon
  Yn diflannu yn Dy wawr;
    Ni ddaw cwmwl
  Dros Dy wyneb hawddgar byth.

Haul a Tharian iachawdwriaeth
  Geidw f'enaid rhag llescau;
Haul a bythol feddyginiaeth
  Yn ei esgyll yn parhau;
    Yn Dy lewych
  Deuaf yn dragwyddol iach.

Gād im' aros yn Dy gwmni
  I fwynhau Dy siriol wedd;
Dan dywynion Dy oleuni
  Melys odiaeth yw Dy hedd;
    Gweddnewidir
  Bywyd yn Dy wenau Di.

Er cyfarfod ā pheryglon
  Ar fy ymdaith drwy y byd,
Er ymosod gan elynion
  Ar fy enaid llesg o hyd,
    Pam yr ofnaf;
  Haul a Tharian yw fy Nuw.

(Sun and Shield)
The Sun and Shield of pilgrims
  Are thou, my great Jesus;
Darkness and worries
  Disappear in thy dawn;
    No cloud shall ever
  Come over thy beautiful face.

The Sun and Shield of salvation
  Shall keep my soul from fainting;
A Sun with everlasting healing
  In its wings enduringly;
    In thy radiance
  I shall become eternally healthy.

Let me stay in thy company
  To enjoy thy cheerful countenance;
Under the rays of thy light
  Exceptionally sweet is thy peace;
    To be transfigured is
  Life in thy smiles.

Despite meeting with perils
  On my march through the world,
Despite attacks by enemies
  Upon my feeble soul always,
    Why shall I fear?
  A Sun and Shield is my God.
