Hwn yw y sanctaidd ddydd

(Dydd yr Arglwydd)
Hwn yw y sanctaidd ddydd,
  Gorffwysodd Duw o'i waith;
A ninnau nawr, dan wenau Duw,
  Gorffwyswn ar ein taith.

Hwn yw'r moliannus ddydd,
  Cydganodd sêr y wawr;
Mae heddiw lawnach testun cân,
  Molianned pawb yn awr.

Hwn yw y dedwydd ddydd,
  Daeth Grist o'i fedd yn fyw;
O codwn oll i fywyd gwell,
  I ryddid meibion Duw.

Hwn yw'r brenhinol ddydd,
  Mae Crist i gael ei le;
O Dduw, rho heddiw weled drws
  Yn agor yn y ne'.

(The Lord's Day)
This is the sacred day,
  On which God rested from his work;
And we too now, under the smiles of God,
  Rest on our journey.

This is the praiseful day,
  When the stars of the dawn sang together;
Today there is a song with a fuller theme,
  Let all sing now.

This is the happy day,
  When Christ came from his grave alive;
O let us rise to a better life,
  To the freedom of the sons of God.

This is the royal day,
  On which Christ is to get his place;
O God, grant today to see a door
  Open in heaven.
tr. 2024 Richard B Gillion
(The Lord's Day)
This is the sacred day
  When God's work was complete;
And we, who do his work on earth,
  Rest at our Saviour's feet.

This is the praiseful day,
  When when all of heaven did sing;
Let us, whom Christ has made his own,
  Make earth as heaven ring.

This is the happy day,
  When from the grave Christ came;
Let us who share his risen life,
  Sound praises to his name.

This is the royal day,
  To crown him Lord and King;
For heaven opened wide to bless
  Our joyous praise we bring.
tr. 2024 Richard B Gillion
