Heddiw cododd Crist o'r bedd,
    Haleliwia!
Awdwr ein tragwyddol hedd,
    Haleliwia!
  Wedi prynu ar y pren,
    Haleliwia!
  I feddiannu'r nefoedd wen,
    Haleliwia!

Talodd Ef ein dyled fawr,
Rhyddion ydym ninau'n awr;
  Fe ysigodd Had y wraig,
  Uffern ddu a phen y ddraig.

Fe bwrcasodd Iesu mad,
A'i rinweddol aberth rhad,
  Deyrnas nefoedd deg i ni;
  O! mor ddrud ein
      braint a'n bri.

Cawn ar fyr gyfarfod fry,
Gyda'r glan gadwedig lu;
  Lle mae holl angylion nef
  Byth yn moli ar lafar lef.

Today Christ rose from the grave,
    Hallelujah!
The author of our eternal peace,
    Hallelujah!
  Having redeemed on the tree,
    Hallelujah!
  To possess the bright heavens,
    Hallelujah!

He paid our great debt,
Free are we now;
  The Seed of the woman crushed
  Black hell and the dragon's head.

Renowned Jesus purchased,
With his virtuous, gracious sacrifice,
  The kingdom of fair heaven for us,
  O how precious our
      privilege and our honour.

We shall shortly get to meet above,
With the holy saved host;
  Where all the angels of heaven are
  Forever praising with a vocal voice.

Jesus Christ is risen today,
    Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day,
    Alleluia!
  Who did once, upon the cross,
    Alleluia!
  Suffer to redeem our loss,
    Alleluia!

Hymns of praise then let us sing,
Unto Christ, our heavenly King,
  Who endured the cross and grave,
  Sinners to redeem and save.

But the pains which He endured,
Our salvation hath procured,
  Now above the sky He's king,
  Where the angels
      ever sing.

Sing we to our God above,
Praise eternal as His love,
  Praise Him, all you heavenly host,
  Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
