Hiraethu'r wyf am gael fy nwyn

(Hiraeth am Gwmni y Nefolion)
Hiraethu'r wyf am gael fy nwyn
Ar aden gref
    rhyw angel mwyn,
Ar frys i blith y siriol lu
  O frodyr a chyfeillion fry.

Rhai sydd a mawl byth ar eu mîn,
Heb unrhyw bla na phechod blin,
  Ar ddelw hardd
      eu Prynwr mawr,
  Mewn gwisgoedd fel goleuni'r wawr!

Mewn meddiant llon
    a llawn fwynhad
O ryfedd iachawdwriaeth rad,
Yn rhoddi byth, mewn eithaf hoen,
Galonog fawl i Dduw a'r Oen.
David Davis 1745-1827

Tôn [MH 8888]: St Cadfan (<1876)

gwelir: Dy heddwch Ior a gwel'd dy wedd

(Longing for the Company of the Heavenly Ones)
Longing I am to get borne
On the strong wings
    of some gentle angel,
  Swiftly amidst the cheerful host
  Of brothers and friends above.

Some are with praise forever on their lip,
Without any plague or grievous sin,
  In the beautiful image
      of their great Redeemer,
In garments like the light of the dawn!

In the cheerful possession
    and full enjoyment
Of a wonderful, free salvation,
  Giving forever, in extreme liveliness,
Hearty praise to God and the Lamb.
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
