I breseb Bethlehem, Fe ddaeth yr Iesu, Yn wylaidd iawn Ei drem I'n gwasanaethu; Creawdydd mawr y nef, A chyrrau'r ddaear gref:- Yn faban gwelwyd Ef, Mewn isel deulu. I ddeddfau pur Ei Dad Fe roes ufudd-dod, A thrwy Ei fywyd mad Condemniodd bechod; Ni cheisiodd fydol fri, Ond gweithiodd drosom ni, Nes mynd i Galfari, Yn aberth parod. Cysegrwn ninnau'n hoes O wirfodd calon, I wir ddyrchafu croes Yr Iesu tirion Dilynwn ol Ei droed, Yn awr yng ngrym ein hoed; A'n hiraeth beunydd boed Am Fynydd Seion.David Rowlands (Dewi Môn) 1836-1907 Tôn [6565.6665]: Dilyn Iesu (1899) |
To the crib of Bethlehem, Came Jesus, Very meek His apprearance To serve us; The great Creator of heaven, And the corners of the strong earth:- As a baby He was seen, In a lowly family. To the pure laws of His Father He gave his obedience, And through His virtuous life He condemned sin; He sought no earthly esteem, But worked for us, Until going to Calvary, As a ready sacrifice. Let us consecrate our lifetimes From a willing heart, Truly to lift up the cross Of gentle Jesus; Let us follow His footprints, Now in the strength of our age; And may our daily longing be For Mount Zion.tr. 2017 Richard B Gillion |
