Iesu annwyl mewn anghenion

("Nac ofnwch, myfi yw.")
Iesu annwyl, mewn anghenion
  Dal yn ffyddlon 'rywt o hyd;
Deui ataf i beryglon
  Heb Dy ddisgwyl lawer pryd;
Yn Dy gwmni mae ymwared,
  Yn Dy gysgod heddwch llawn;
Ac ni ddigwydd imi niwed
  Heb ddileu Dy ddwyfol Iawn.

Pan fo'r tonnau'n ymgynhyrfu,
  Heb un graig o dan fy nhroed,
Pan fo calon lesg yn crynu
  Yn y t'w'wwch mwya' rioed;
A phan ddaw meddyliau ofer
  I'm dychrynu lawer awr,
Yn fy ymyl, ar y dyfnder,
  Agos ydwyt, Iesu mawr.

Gwelais lawer storm yn cilio
  Ar Dy amnaid oddi draw;
Maddeu imi am anghofio
  Fod y gwyntoedd yn Dy law;
Gras a chariad yw Dy lwybrau,
  Er yn ddyrys iawn i mi;
Rhued bywyd, gwged angau,
  Diogel ydwyf gyda Thi.

[Mesur: 8787D]

("Fear ye not, it is I.")
Dear Jesus, in needs
  Remaining faithful art thou always;
Thou comest to me to perils
  Without my expecting thee many a time;
In thy company there is deliverance,
  In thy shadow, full peace;
And no harm shall happen to me
  Without abolishing thy divine Atonement.

When the waves are agitating,
  Without any rock under my foot,
When a feeble heart is trembling
  In the greatest darkness ever;
And when vain thoughts come
  To terrify me many an hour,
By my side, in the depth,
  Near art thou, great Jesus.

I saw many a storm retreating
  At thy signal from afar;
Forgive me for forgetting
  That the winds are in thy hand;
Grace and love are thy paths,
  Although very troublesome to me;
Let life roar, let death scowl,
  Safe am I with thee.
