Iesu'r dirmygedig un, Ddioddefodd angau loes; Dwyfol lîd, digofaint llawn, Yn dyner ar y groes: Ei ddioddefaint ddwyfol ef Ddaeth a'm enaid caeth yn rhydd; Bellach holl ganiada'r nef Fyth am Galfaria fydd. O foreuddydd dedwydd iawn, Pan ddelo'r ddisglaer lu; O pob cwrr y ddaear lawn, I gwrdd a'u Harglwydd cu. Derfydd gofid, derfydd gwae, Derfydd temtasiynau maith; Derfydd yno carrio'r groes 'Nol myn'd i ben y daith. Ac wrth wel'd yn agoshau, Fath hyfryd fore wawr; Un diwrnod goleu clir, Maith drag'wyddoldeb mawr; Pa'm nad wyf yn llawenhau, Tra f'wi'n rhodio'r ddaear hon, Meddwl am y gwynfyd fry Ac ar fy nhaith yn llon? - - - - - Iesu y dirmygedig un, Ddyoddefodd angeu loes; Gan ryw ddienyddwyr llym, Yn wirion ar y groes; Y gruddfanau rodd e' maes, Ddaeth a'r trueiniaid oll yn rhydd; Bellach holl ganiadau'r nef, Byth am Galfaria fydd. O foreu-ddydd dedwydd iawn, Pan ddelo'r dorf yn un, O bob cwr i'r ddaear faith, I gwrdd a'u Harglwydd cun; Derfydd gofid a phob gwae, Derfydd temtasiynau maith; Derfydd pechod mawr ei rwysg, A derfydd dyrys daith. Ac wrth wel'd yn agoshau, Fath hyfryd fore wawr; Un diwrnod goleu clir, Maith drag'wyddoldeb mawr: Pa'm na bawn yn llawen iawn, Hyn wy'n 'mofyn ei fwynhau, A thyma fref fy enaid gwan, Ei wel'd yn agoshau.William Williams 1717-91 [Mesur: 7676.7776] |
Jesus the scorned one, Suffered the throes of death; Divine wrath, full ire, Tenderly on the cross: His divine suffering Brought my captive soul free; Henceforth all the songs of heaven Shall forever be about Calvary. From a very happy morning, When the shining host come, From every corner of the full earth, To meet with their dear Lord. Grief shall pass away, woe shall pass away, Vast temptations shall pass away; Carrying the cross shall pass away After going to the journey's end. And on seeing approaching, Such a delightful break of dawn; One day of clear light, A vast, great eternity; Why shall I not rejoice, While I am walking this earth, Thinking about the blessedness above And on my journey cheerfully? - - - - - Jesus the scorned one, Who suffered the throes of death; By some sharp executioners, Innocently on the cross; The groans he gave out, Brought all the wretches free; Henceforth all the songs of heaven, Shall forever be about Calvary. From a very happy morning, When the crowd come as one, From every corner of the vast earth, To meet with their dear Lord; Grief shall pass away and every woe, Vast temptations shall pass away; Sin with its great ostentation shall pass away, And a troublesome journey shall pass away. And on seeing such a Delightful dawn approaching; One day of clear light, A vast, great eternity: Why would I not be very joyful, This I am asking to enjoy, And this is the cry of my weak soul, To see is approaching.tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion |
