Iesu roes addewid hyfryd

1,2,(3,4).
(Y Sulgwyn)
Iesu roes addewid hyfryd
  Cyn ei fynd i ben ei daith,
Yr anfonai Ef ei Ysbryd
  I roi bywyd yn ei waith;
    Dawn dy Ysbryd,
  Digon i'r disgyblion yw.

Cofiodd Iesu ei addewid,
  A chyflawnodd hi yn awr;
Ar y Sulgwyn daeth yr Ysbryd
  Ac achubwyd tyrfa fawr:
    Enw'r Iesu
  Gaiff yr holl ogoniant mwy.

Mae digonedd cyflawn eto
  Yn yr hen addewid wiw;
Boed i ninnau'n awr wedïo
  Am ymweliad Ysbryd Duw:
    O tywallter
Ef yn helaeth arnom ni.

O Lân Ysbryd yr addewid,
  Tyred yn dy ddawn di-lyth,
Mae dy ras yn ddigyfnewid,
  Gweithia'n rymus yn ein plith,
    Deffro'r Eglwys,
  Achub, argyhoedda'r byd.

(Whit Sunday)
Jesus gave a delightful promise
  Before going to his destination,
He would send his Spirit
  To put life in his work;
    The gift of thy Spirit,
  Is sufficient for the disciples.

Jesus remembered his promise,
  And has fulfilled it now;
On Whit Sunday the Spirit came
  And a great multitude were saved:
    The name of Jesus
  Will get all the glory henceforth.

There is complete sufficiency again
  In the old worthy promise;
Let us now pray
  For a visit of God's Spirit:
    O let him be poured out
  Widely upon us.

O Holy Spirit of the promise,
  Come in thy unfailing gift,
Thy grace is unchanging,
  Work strongly amongst us,
    Awaken the Church,
  Safe, convince the world!
