Jerusalem, O! Ddinas hardd, Fy anwyl gartref clyd, Pa bryd caf ddod tu fewn i'th byrth A chanu'n iach i'r byd? Mewn anial garw rwyf yn byw, Yn ofni lawer gwaith Mae colli'm ffordd a marw wnaf Cyn cyrraedd pen fy nhaith! Y mae'r Iorddonen, afon fawr, Yn rhuo'n ddig is law; Fy Nuw, fy Nhad! ai boddi wnaf Cyn cael yr ochor draw? Caesalem deg, mor hardd dy wedd! Dy byrth o berlau drud: Dy dêg heolydd, llydain, maith, Yn balmant aur i gyd. Ah! dacw Ef - a dacw'r wlad: O! fedigedig wedd! - A dacw annhraethadwy heirdd Binaclau Dinas hedd! Ah! mae y ddinas nefol draw, A'i holl ddedwyddwch hi, Yn werth pob cystudd a phob croes Ddaw byth i gwrdd â ni.Sarah Jane Rees (Cranogwen) 1839-1916 Tôn [MC 8686]: Philippi (Samuel Wesley 1766-1837) |
Jerusalem, O beautiful City, My beloved cosy home! When shall I get to come within thy portals And sing whole to the world? In a rough desert I am living, Fearing many a time That lose my way and die I shall Before reaching my destination! The Jordan, a great river, Is roaring angrily below; My God, my Father! shall I die Before getting to the other side? Fair Salem, so beautiful thy countenance! Thy portals of costly pearls: Thy fair streets, broad, vast, A pavement all of gold. Ah! there He is - and there is the land: O blessed countenance! - And there the inexpressibly beautiful Pinacles of the City of peace! Ah! the heavenly city is yonder, With all its happiness, Worth every tribulation and every cross That will ever come to meet us.tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion |
