Mawr ydyw ein henwog Waredwr

(Y Sul nesaf o flaen y Pasc - Boreuol Weddi)
Mawr ydyw ein henwog Waredwr,
  Mae'r Ion ini'n
      Brynwr a Brawd;
Iehofah â'n natur ymunodd,
  Y Gair wnaed o'i wirfodd yn gnawd;
Nid ydyw i'r gwan yn rhy uchel,
  Ac nid yw'n rhy isel i'r nef,
Mae'n addas Gyfryngwr
    i'r ddwyblaid,
  Ein Dyddiwr bendigaid yw Ef.

Rhaid ydoedd cael
    Duwdod i'n cadw,
  A Dyndod i farw'n ein lle;
Caed Iesu i'r gwagle i'w lanw:
  Gwir Dduw a gwir Ddyn yw Efe;
Ein natur ddyrchafwyd i'r orsedd,
  Daeth rhyfedd anrhydedd i'n rhan,
Ffordd rydd sydd rhwng
    daiar a nefoedd,
  Dyrchefir rhyw luoedd i'r lan.

(The Sunday next before Easter - Morning Prayer)
Great is our famous Deliverer,
  The Lord is to us a
      Redeemer and a Brother;
Jehovah joined himself with our nature,
  The Word was made voluntarily into flesh;
For the weak he is not too high,
  And he is not too low for heaven,
He is a suitable Mediator
    for the two parties,
  Our blessed Comforter is he.

It was necessary to have
    Divinity to save us,
  And humanity to die in our place;
Jesus was found the gap to fill:
  True God and true man is he;
Our nature was exalted to the throne,
  A wonderful honour came to our portion,
A was he gives which is between
     earth and heaven,
  Some hosts are raised up.
tr. 2020 Richard B Gillion
