Mi welaf wlad uwchlaw y sêr

(Y Wlad well)
Mi welaf wlad uwchlaw y sêr,
Cartrefle pur anthemau pêr:
  Gwlad bwyd hyfryd ydyw hi,
  Gwlad saint ac engyl
      mawr eu bri.

Gwlad pur ddedwyddwch, heddwch hir
Gwlad cariad ac addoliad gwir,
Gwlad y caniadau goreu i gyd,
  A'r teulu'n frodyr o un fryd.

Y nef yw'r man mae Iesu'n ben,
Yn eistedd ar ei orsedd wen,
  Yn wrthddrych bythol
      mawl a chân,
Holl ddirfawr lu y dyrfa lân.

Duw! gwna ni'n gymhwys yn y byd
I gael meddianu'r nef i gyd:
Boed i ni feddu'r uchel fraint,
  O gael cartrefle gyda'r saint.

Tôn [MH 8888]: Otterbourne (Franz J Haydn 1732-1809)

(The better Land)
I see a land above the stars,
The home of pure, sweet anthems:
A land of delightful food it is,
A land of saint and angels
      of great renown.

The land of pure happiness, long peace,
The land of love and true adoration,
The land of all the best songs,
And the family as brothers of one mind.

Heaven is the place where Jesus is head,
Sitting on his white throne,
  As the object of everlasting
      praise and song,
All the enormous host of the holy throng.

God, make us qualified in the world
To get to possess all of heaven:
May we possess the high privilege,
Of getting a home with the saints.
tr. 2020 Richard B Gillion
