Mawr yw doethineb brenin nef, A'i wyrthiau ef sydd werthfawr; Ni thraethir byth eu maint, ar g'oedd, Hyd derfyn oesoedd dirfawr. Gwynfyd y lluoedd dysglaer, llon, Sy fry ger bron ei wyneb, Yn gweled rhyfeddodau clir, Gwaith hynod gwir ddoethineb. Yr haul, a'r lloer, a'r ser uwch ben, Sy'n harddu'r wybren siriol, Gan dangos ei ddoethineb maith, A'i gywrain waith rhagorol. Y ddaear lawn, a'i dirfawr lu, Sy'n traethu am ei fawredd; A'r eigion dwfn, a'r pysg sy'n gwau, Dan ḍnau'r ddyfrllyd anedd. Ond wele fwy rhyfeddol waith, Doethineb maith sydd eglur, Yn trefnu iachawdwriaeth rad, A cheidwad i bechadur. Drwy ddirgel drefn doethineb gu, Dwy natur fu elynol, Yn mherson Crist, mewn undeb sydd, Hyn fu, hyn fydd ryfeddol. O! pa mor anchwiliadwy yw Doethineb y Duw perffaith, Ei wyrthiau'n llawn, ni ddeall neb, I dragwyddoldeb hirfaith.Robert Williams (Robert ap Gwilym Ddu) 1766-1850 Gardd Eifion 1841 [Mesur: MS 8787] |
Great is the wisdom of the king of heaven, And his miracles are valuable; Their extent never to be expounded, publicly, Until the end of enormous ages. Blessed the cheerful, shining hosts, Who are above before his face, Seeing clear wonders, The remarkable work of true wisdom. The sun, and the moon, and the stars overhead, Which are beautifying the glad sky, While showing his vast wisdom, And his exceedingly intricate work. The full earth, and its enormous host, Are expounding about his greatness; And the deep ocean, and the fish which are weaving, Under the waves of the watery dwelling. But see a more wonderful work, Vast widsom which is clear, Arranging free salvation, And preservation for a sinner. Through the secret arrangement of dear wisdom, Two natures which were hostile, In the person of Christ, in union are, This was, this shall be wonderful. Oh, how unsearchable is The wisdom of the perfect God, His miracles full, no-one understands, To a vast, long eternity.tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion |
