Mawr yw'th amynedd di O Dduw

1,2,(3,4).
(Am amynedd Duw)
Mawr yw'th amynedd di O Dduw,
Yn gadael hen bechadur fyw;
  A haeddodd fod yn uffern dān,
  Am dorri dy gyfeithiau glān.

Daioni ac amynedd Duw,
Fo'n tywys pawb o ddynol-ryw;
  I wir ffieiddio pechod cās,
  A derbyn Iesu Grist a'i ras.

Mor araf ennyn dig ein Duw,
Parotach i drugaredd yw;
  Ac os ei ddig a gaiff gyffroi,
  Mae'n ebrwydd i dosturi'n troi.

Ynghanol llid mae'n trugarāu,
Ysgafnach yw ei gosb na'n bai:
  A thra ceryddo'i saint yn fwyn,
  Ei glust a wrendy ar eu cwyn.
Caniadau Bethel (Casgliad Evan Edwards) 1840

(About the patience of God)
Great is thy patience, O God,
Letting an old sinner live;
  Who deserved to be in hell fire,
  For breaking thy holy law.

The goodness and patience of God,
Be leading all of human-kind;
  Truly to detest hated sin,
  And receive Jesus Christ and his grace.

So slow to kindle the anger of our God,
More ready to show mercy he is;
  And if his anger gets aroused,
  It is swift to mercy turning.

In the midst of anger he is being merciful,
Lighter is his punishment than our fault:
  And while he chastises his saints gently,
  His ear shall listen to their complaint.
