Mi brofais Dduw yn dda

(Profiad o Ras Duw)
Mi brofais Dduw yn dda,
  Fy nhirion raslon Dad,
Yn maddeu im' fy meiau mawr,
  Yn rhwydd o'i gariad rhad.

Er saled yw fy nrych,
  Er tloted wyf yn awr,
Fy llenwi gâf â llawnder Duw,
  A'm gweled fel y wawr.

Fe'm seliodd i mewn hedd,
  Rhyfeddol yw ei ras!
Cynhaliodd fi â manna pur,
  Mewn gwledd o hyfryd flas.
William Williams 1717-91

(Experience of God's Grace)
I have tasted that God is good,
  My tender, gracious Father,
Forgiving me my great faults,
  Freely from his free love.

Though my condition is so sick,
Though I am so poor now,
I will get filled with God's fullness,
And my appearance like the dawn.

He established me in peace,
  Wonderful is his grace!
He supported me with pure manna,
In a banquet of delightful taste.
tr. 2010 Richard B Gillion
