Mi glywais lais yr Iesu'n dweyd (Tyrd ataf yr awr hon)

Mi glywais lais yr Iesu'n dweyd,
  "Tyr'd ataf yr awr hon!
Rho'th ben i lawr, flinderog un,
  Yn esmwyth ar Fy mron!"
[Mi ddaethum at yr Iesu cu,
   Yn llwythog, blin, a phrudd,
 Gorphwysfa gefais ynddo Ef,
   'Rwy'n llawen nos a dydd.]

Mi glywais lais yr Iesu'n dweyd,
  "Mae'r bywiol ddwfr yn rhad;
Ymgryma i lawr, sychedig un,
  Yf fywyd, ac iachad!"
[Mi ddaethum at yr Iesu cu,
   Ac yfais ddyfroedd gwiw,
 Y syched ffôdd, daeth nerth yn ol,
   Ac ynddo Ef 'rwy'n byw.]

Mi glywais lais yr Iesu'n dweyd,
  "Goleuni'r byd wyf fi!
Dy wyneb tro, drallodus un —
  Daw boreu clir i ti!"
[Mi droais at yr Iesu cu,
   Daeth Haul, 'rol noson faith;
 A rhodiaf yn ngoleuni hwn
   Nes dod i ben fy nhaith.]

I heard the voice of Jesus saying,
  "Come to me this hour!"
Put thy head down, exhausted one,
  Softly on My breast!"
[I came to dear Jesus,
   Burdened, weary, and sad,
 I got a resting-place in Him,
   I am joyful night and day.]

I heard the voice of Jesus saying,
  "There is living water freely;
Bow down, thirsty one,
  Drink life, and be healed!"
[I came to dear Jesus,
   And I drank worthy waters,
 The thirst fled, strength came back,
   And in Him I am living.]

I heard the voice of Jesus saying,
  "The light of the world am I!
Turn thy fame, troubled one -
  A clear morning will come to thee!"
[I turned to dear Jesus,
   A Sun came, after a long night;
 And I shall walk in this light
   Until coming to the end of my journey.]

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
  "Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down
  Thy head upon My breast."
I came to Jesus as I was,
  Weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting place,
  And He has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
  "Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one,
  Stoop down, and drink, and live."
I came to Jesus, and I drank
  Of that life giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
  And now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say,
 "I am this dark world's Light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise,
  And all thy day be bright."
I looked to Jesus, and I found
  In Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that light of life I'll walk,
  Till travelling days are done.
