Mi wn fod fy Mhrynwr yn fyw

Mi wn fod fy Mhrynwr yn fyw,
  A'm prynodd â thaliad mor ddrud;
Fe saif ar y ddaear, gwir yw,
  Yn niwedd holl oesoedd y byd:
Er ised, er
    gwaeled fy ngwedd,
  Teyrnasu mae 'Mhrynwr
      a'm Brawd;
Ac er fy malurio'n y bedd
  Ca'i weled ef allan o'm cnawd.

Wel, arno bo 'ngolwg bob dydd,
  A'i daliad anfeidrol o werth;
Gwir awdur, perffeithydd ein ffydd,
  Fe'm cynnal ar lwybrau blin serth:
Fy enaid, ymestyn ymlaen,
  Na orffwys nes cyrraedd y tir,
Y Ganaan dragwyddol ei chân,
  Y Saboth hyfrydol yn wir.
Ca'i weled ef allan o'm cnawd :: Caf eto ei weld yn fy nghnawd
Wel, arno bo 'ngolwg :: Wel arno bo'm golwg :: Boed arno fy ngolwg

daliad anfeidrol o :: Aberth anfeidrol ei
perffeithydd ein :: Perffeithiwr fy
Ganaan dragwyddol ei chân :: Ganaan dragwyddol a'i chân

I know that my Redeemer is alive,
  Who bought me with a payment so costly;
He shall stand on the earth, it is true,
  At the end of all the ages of the world:
Though so low, though
    so abject my condition,
  He reigns does my Redeemer
      and my Brother;
And though I moulder in the grave
  I will get to see him out of my flesh.

See, on him be my sight every day,
  And his payment of immeasurable worth;
True author, perfecter of our faith,
  He supports me on steep, wearying paths:
My soul, press on,
  Nor rest until reaching the land,
The Canaan of eternal song,
  The Sabbath truly delightful.
I will get to see him out of my flesh :: I will again get to see him in my flesh
See, on him be my sight :: See on him be my sight :: May my sight be on him

payment of immeasurable :: Sacrifice of immeasurable
Perfecter of our :: perfecter of my
The Canaan of eternal song :: Canaan eternal and its song

tr. 2009 Richard B Gillion

He lives! my Redeemer is nigh,
  The Saviour who bought me so dear;
Again he will stand on the earth
  When earth to its ending draws near.
Though lowly and
    poor be my lot,
  My Saviour and Brother
      will reign;
And though I decay in the grave,
  My eyes will behold him again.

Each day, be my eyes set on him,
  The payment he made, none can say;
The Author who fashioned our faith
  Sustains us on life's weary way.
My soul, press thou on without cease,
  Nor rest, till thy goal is in sight -
The Canaan of song without end,
  The Sabbath of perfect delight.
