Mil henffych, foreddydd gogoned, Mae'n hoff gennym weled dy wedd, Y dydd y daeth corff ein Hanwylyd Heb lygriad i'r bywyd o'r bedd; Gogoniant holl fywyd y Cristion, A'i goron, ddydd tirion, wyt ti; Mae'th lewyrch yn troi, mewn llawenydd, Pob Sul yn Basg newydd i ni. Cyweiria, fy nhelyn, i'm Ceidwad Dy ganiad ar dorriad y dydd; Deffroed yn foreuach dy dannau Na'r hedydd boreol, mewn ffydd; Prif destun melusaf y nefoedd Sydd heddyw yn gwahodd dy gân; Ennyned y testun bendigaid Dy awen drwy d'enaid yn dân. O'r ymdrech mewn llawn fuddugoliaeth Daeth heddyw ein Pennaeth heb ball; Ysigodd ben Satan ein gelyn, A maeddodd holl fyddin y fall; Aeth Iesu yn angau i angau, Gorchfygodd ei boenau a'r bedd; Gorphenwyd y rhyfel dros Sïon, Mae heddyw yn hinon o hedd. Pa'm bellach yr ofnaf farwolaeth? Pa'm bellach yr ofnaf y bedd? Cyssegrodd yr Iesu'n tŷ olaf, Yn hwnnw mi hunaf mewn hedd: Ryw fore, fel f'Arglwydd a'm Ceidwad, Caf finnau gyfodiad i fyw Mewn tŷ o adeilad ysprydol Trag'wyddol a nefol fy Nuw. Wedi codiad yr haulwen i'r entrych, Adlewyrch o'i lewyrch â i lawr, Argreffir ei ddelw hyfrydlon Ym môr ac yn afon yn awr; Fel hyn mae cyfodiad ein Prynydd I ddyfroedd y Bedydd heb wâd, Ei effaith a'u gwna hwy'n rhinweddoi, Trwy ffydd, er achubol iachâd. I'r Drindod fendigaid ein moliant A rown, a gogoniant ar gân, I'r Tad, ac i'r Mab rhad tragwyddol, I'r Ysbryd Sancteiddiol a Glân; Fel cynt cyn rhoi sylfaen y bydoedd, O'r dechrau yr oedd, ac mae'n awr, Y bydd ein pêr fawl yn oes oesoedd Yn seinio trwy nefoedd a llawr. hedydd boreol :: 'hedydd hoff enau

Hail a thousand times, glorious morning, It is delightful for us to see thy face, The day the body of our Beloved came Without corruption to life from the grave; The glory of the whole life of the Christian, And his crown, tender day, art thou; Thy radiance is turning, in rejoicing, Every Sunday into a new Easter for us. Tune up, my harp, for my Saviour Thy song at the break of day; May thy strings awaken earlier Than the lark of the morn, in faith; The sweetest chief theme of heaven Is today welcoming thy song; May the blessed theme kindle Thy muse through thy soul into a fire. From the struggle in full victory Came today our Chief without failure; He bruised the head of Satan our enemy, And beat all the army of the evil one; Jesus became death to death, He overcame its pains and the grave; The battle was finished for Zion, Today is a sunshine of peace. Why henceforth shall I fear mortality? Why henceforth shall I fear the grave? Jesus consecrated our last house, In that I shall sleep in peace: Some morn, like my Lord and my Saviour, I also shall get a resurrection to live In the house of a spiritual, eternal And heavenly building of my God. After the rising of the bright sun to the vault, The reflection of his radiance shall go down, His delightful image is to be impressed In sea and in river now; Thus is the resurrection of our Redeemer To the waters of baptism without denial, His effect shall imbue them with wonder, Through faith, for saving health. To the blessed Trinity our praise Let us give, and glory in song, To the Father, and to the gracious, eternal Son, To to Sacred and Holy Spirit; As of old before the setting of the foundation of the worlds, From the beginning it was, and is now, Our sweet praise shall be forever and ever Sounding throughout heaven and earth. lark of the morn :: lark of delightful mouth tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion |
