(Psalm 79)
Remember thou not our former trespass
    for our age;
  God, hurry, grant mercy:
Thy protection goes before us,
  Who are lying in wretchedness.

O God our health, help us,
  For the sake of thy glorious fame;
Save for the sake of the name and thy praise,
  Despite the extent of our mortal sin.
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
(PSAL. LXXIX.)
8 O think not on
      our former sins,
    but speedily prevent
  The utter ruin of thy saints,
    almost with sorrow spent.

9 Thou God of our salvation, help,
    and free our souls from blame;
  So shall our pardon and defense
    exalt thy glorious Name.
