Ni fynai Iesu golli dyn

Ni fynai Iesu golli dyn;
I gadw hwn bu farw'i hun!
  Hyn a eglurir yn y llef
  Glybuwyd yn ei angau Ef, -
"O maddeu iddynt, nefol Dad,
Ni wyddant pam 'rwy'n colli ngwaed!"

Awylaf Oen! drwy'th
    boen a'th glwyf
Ymofyn am drugaredd 'rwyf;
  Dy chwerw loes,
      dy groes, a'th gri,
  Sy'n dadlu heddyw drosof fi;
Drwy'th aberth pur,
    a'th angau drud,
O Iesu, maddeu meiau ' gyd!

O gād im' ddyfod at dy draed,
Gād imi'n awr gael pardwn rhad;
  Yna cyhoeddaf gyda blas,
  I'r dua'i liw
      ar ddaear lās,
Fod croesaw iddo gyda thi,
Gan iti faddeu meiau i.

O deued holl drigolion byd
I gredu yn dy aberth drud
  Pob enaid dros derfynau'r llawr
  I wir adnabod Iesu mawr;
A phrofi, fel y profais i,
Fod rhad faddeuant gyda thi!

Jesus would not wish a man to be lost;
To keep him he himself died!
  This is made clear in the cry
  Heard in His own death, -
"O forgive them, heavenly Father,
They know not why I am shedding my blood!"

Dearest Lamb, through thy
    pain and thy wound
Asking for mercy am I;
  Thy bitter anguish,
      thy cross, and thy cry,
  Are arguing today for me;
Through thy pure sacrifice,
    and thy costly death,
O Jesus, forgive all my faults!

O let me come to thy feet,
Let me now get a free pardon;
  Then I shall publish with relish,
  To the one of blackest colour
      on blue-green earth,
That there is a welcome for him with thee,
Since thou hast forgiven my faults.

O may all the inhabitants of the world come
To believe in thy costly sacrifice
  Every soul across the boundaries of earth
  Truly to know great Jesus;
And to prove, as I proved,
That there is free forgiveness with thee!

Would Jesus have the sinner die?
  Why hangs He then on yonder tree?
What means that strange expiring cry?
  (Sinners, He prays for you and me)
"Forgive them, Father, O forgive,
They know not that by Me they live!"

Thou loving,
    all-atoning Lamb,
  Thee - by Thy painful agony,
Thy bloody sweat,
    Thy grief and shame,
  Thy cross and passion on the tree,
Thy precious death
    and life - I pray,
Take all, take all my sins away!

O let me kiss Thy bleeding feet,
  And bathe and wash them
    with my tears!
The story of Thy love repeat
  In every drooping sinner's ears,
That all may hear the quickening sound,
Since I, e'en I, have mercy found.

O let Thy love my heart constrain!
  Thy love for every sinner free,
That every fallen soul of man
  May taste the grace that found out me;
That all mankind with me may prove
Thy sovereign everlasting love.
