Ni tharddodd ffynnon mewn un wlad

(Y Gān y Ffynnon)
Ni tharddodd ffynnon mewn un wlad
  Fel Ffynnon Calfari;
Ac ni bydd diwedd ar fwynhad
  O'i dwyfol rinwedd hi.

Pechadur aflan heb ei fai
  Yn gān i gyd a fydd;
Y gān a'r ffynnon yn ddi-drai,
  Parhānt trwy'r bythol ddydd.

Mae'n hyfryd dechrau ar y gān
  Yn wan mewn anial fyd;
Bydd holl delynau'r nef ar dān
  Gan rym anfarwol fryd.
Evan Phillips 1829-1912

(The Song of the Well)
No well has sprung in any land
  Like the Well of Calvary;
And there shall be no end to the enjoyment
  Of its divine merit.

An unclean sinner without his fault
  All a song shall be;
The song and the well unebbing,
  Shall endure throughout the eternal day.

It is delightful to begin the song
  Weakly in a desert world;
All the harps of heaven shall be on fire
  With the force of an immortal intent.
tr. 2017 Richard B Gillion
