(Psalm 79)
O God our health, help us!
  For the sake of thy glorious renown;
And deliver, for the sake
    of thine own name,
  Us from mortal sins.

Remember not the former sins of our age;
  God, hurry, show mercy:
Thy protection shall go before us,
  Which is in mercy lying.

We, thy people and thy little sheep,
  Shall make to thee glorious song:
From age to age forever
    to endure
  And to magnify thee eternally.
tr. 2019 Richard B Gillion
(PSAL. LXXIX.)
 5 How long wilt thou be angry, Lord;
     must we for ever mourn?
   Shall thy devouring
       jealous rage,
     like fire, for ever burn?

 8 O think not on our former sins,
     but speedily prevent
   The utter ruin of thy saints,
     almost with sorrow spent.

13 So we, thy people and thy flock,
     shall ever praise thy Name;
   And with glad hearts
       our grateful thanks
     From age to age proclaim.
