O feibion a gwyryfon glân

O sons and daughters let us sing / O filii et filiae

(Y Pasg)
  Aleliwia!  Aleliwia!  Aleliwia!
O feibion a gwyryfon glân,
I Frenin nef dyrchefwch gân,
Mae barrau'r bedd yn chwilfriw mân.
  Alelwia!

Ar fore'r Pag, ar doriad gwawr,
Ygwragedd ffyddlon ddaw yn awr
I weled bedd eu Ceidwad mawr.

Hwy welant angel glân o'r nef
Yn eistedd - ebe'n gwyn ei lef:
"Yng Ngalilea gwelwch ef."

A'r apostolion trist ynghyd,
Fe ddaeth eu Harglwydd yn ei bryd,
Gan ddweud: "Tangnefedd ichwi i gyd."

Pan glybu Tomas ddwys pa wedd
Y gwelsent Grist yn fyw o'r bedd,
Amheua'u geiriau hwy'n ddi-hedd.

"O Domas, gwęl fy mron dan glwy',
Fy nhraed a'm dwylo, wele hwy,
Ac na fydd anghredadun mwy."

Ni wadodd mwy fod Crist yn fyw,
Pan welodd ef ei ystlys friw
Cyffesodd:
    "F'Arglwydd wyt a'm Duw."

Y sawl ni welsant, gwyn eu byd,
A'u ffydd yn gadarn byth o hyd,
Tragwyddol fywyd gânt i gyd.

Y Pasg, santeiddiaf dydd yw ef,
Clodforwn ni ag uchel lef
Ben-arglwydd daear lawr a'r nef.

Tôn [8884]: O Filii et Filiae (15ed Ganrif)

(Easter)
  Aleluia!  Aleluia!  Aleluia!
O sons and holy virgins,
To the King of heaven raise a song,
The bars of the grave are in smithereens.
  Aleluia!

On the Easter morn, at the break of dawn,
Faithful women come now
To see the grave of their great Saviour.

They see a holy angel from heaven
Sitting - saying with clear cry:
"In Galilee you will see him."

And the sad apostles together,
Their Lord came in his time,
Saying: "Peace unto you all."

When Thomas heard intently how
They had seen Christ alive from the grave,
Troubled, he doubted their words.

"O Thomas, see my wounded breast,
My feet and my hands, see them,
And be an unbeliever no more."

He denied no longer that Christ was alive,
When he saw his wounded side
He confessed:
    "My Lord art thou and my God."

Those who have not seen, blessed are they,
And their faith still forever firm,
Eternal life they all shall have.

Easter, the holiest day it is,
Let us extol with a loud cry
The Chief Lord of earth below and heaven.
tr. 2020 Richard B Gillion

  Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
O sons and daughters, let us sing!
The King of Heaven, the glorious King,
Over death today rose triumphing.
  Alleluia!

That Easter morn, at break of day,
The faithful women went their way
To seek the tomb where Jesus lay.

An angel clad in white they see,
Who sat, and spake unto the three,
Your Lord doth go to Galilee.

That night th'apostles met in fear;
Amidst them came their Lord most dear,
And said, My peace be on all here.

When Thomas first the tidings heard,
How they had seen the risen Lord,
He doubted the disciples' word.

My piercčd side, O Thomas, see;
My hands, My feet, I show to thee;
Not faithless but believing be.

No longer Thomas then denied;
He saw the feet, the hands, the side;
Thou art my Lord
    and God, he cried.

How blessed are they who have not seen,
And yet whose faith has constant been;
For they eternal life shall win.

On this most holy day of days
Our hearts and voices, Lord, we raise
To Thee, in jubilee and praise.
