O Fugail yr Israel a'u Duw

Thou shepherd of Israel and mine

(Dymuno Cymdeithas y Saint)
O Fugail yr Israel a'u Duw,
  Hyfrydwch fy nghalon i gyd,
Cael mwy o'th gymdeithas i fyw,
  Yw hiraeth fy nghalon o hyd:
Am borfa hyfrydaf dy braidd,
  'Rwyf heddyw'n ymofyn yn brudd,
Lle'u porthir,
    lle'u cedwir mewn hedd,
  Rhag poethder a dwysder y dydd.

O nifer dy braidd gad im' fod, -
  Nid ydwyf yn chwenych dim mwy;
Cael byw yn y byd er dy glod,
  A'm cydogoneddu â hwy:
Yn lloches y Graig gwnaf fy nyth,
  Nes derfydd pob gofid a phoen,
A gorphwys 'rol hyny dros byth
  Yn dawel yn mynwes yr Oen.
hiraeth fy nghalon :: testun fy hiraeth
Nid ydwyf yn chwenych ::

(Requesting the Fellowship of the Saints)
O Shepherd of Israel and their God,
  The delight of all my heart,
To get more of thy fellowship to live,
  Is the longing of my heart always:
For thy flock's most delightful pasture,
  Today I am asking sadly,
Where they are fed,
    where they are kept in peace,
  From the heat and intensity of the day.

One of thy flock let me be, -
  I not craving anything any more;
To live in the world for thy praise,
  And for me to glorify together with them:
In the refuge of the Rock I make my nest,
  Until every grief and pain vanishes,
And I rest after that forever
  Quietly in the bosom of the Lamb.
the longing of my heart :: the theme of my longing
I am not craving anything ::
        I am not asking nor craving
        I am not asking, I am not craving
::
And I rest after that ::
        I shall get a refuge quietly
        And lie quietly
Quietly :: Warmly

tr. 2020 Richard B Gillion

Thou shepherd of Israel, and mine,
  The joy, and desire of my heart;
For closer communion I pine,
  I long to reside where Thou art:
The pasture I languish to find,
  Where all, who their shepherd obey,
Are fed,
    on Thy bosom reclined,
  Are screened from the heat of the day.

'Tis there with the lambs of Thy flock,
  There only I covet to rest:
To lie at the foot of the rock,
  Or rise to be hid in Thy breast;
'Tis there I would always abide,
  And never a moment depart,
Concealed in the cleft of Thy side,
  Eternally held in Thine heart.
the longing of my heart :: the theme of my longing
I am not craving anything ::
        I am not asking nor craving
        I am not asking, I am not craving
::
And I rest after that ::
        I shall get a refuge quietly
        And lie quietly
Quietly :: Warmly
