O Iesu gwna ni'n bur a mwyn: Mae swnion purdeb gwiw, A mwynder llon, yn help i ddwyn Y byd yn ol at Dduw. O, byddwn bur a mwyn, I ddwyn y byd at Dduw, Ein purdeb ni fo'n swyn I ddenu dynol ryw. Fe ganai Dafydd odlau byw, I yrru'r drwg o Saul; Ond canwn ni am gariad Duw, I ddenu'r da yn ol. Ieuddewon wgent pan oedd Crist Yn dod i Salem dref; Ond canwn ni y beraidd gân: "Hosanna iddo Ef." I'w freichiau cymerth Iesu mwyn Blant bach, tra yma'n byw: - Bendithied ninnau oll wrth ddwyn Y byd yn ol at Dduw. Gwnaed ni fel blodau yn yr ardd Yn bêr ein sawr bob pryd: Yn blant mor fwyn, mor bur, mor hardd, Nes dwyn y nef i'n byd.David Adams (Hawen) 1845-1923

O Jesus make us pure and gentle: Sounds of worthy purity, and Cheerful gentleness, are helping to bring The world back to God. O let us be pure and gentle, To bring the world to God, Our purity be our charm To attract human kind. David sang living rhymes, To drive the evil from Saul; But we sing about the love of God, To attract the good back. Jews would frown when Crist was Coming to the town of Jerusalem; But we sing the sweet song: "Hosanna unto him." Into his arms gentle Jesus would take Little children, while living here: - May he bless us all as we bring The world back to God. May he make us like flowers in the garden Sweet our savour all the time: As children so gentle, so pure, so beautiful, Until bringing heaven to our world.tr. 2020 Richard B Gillion |
