O tỳn y galon ddrwg ddi-ras

(Y Galon Ddrwg)
O! tỳn y galon ddrwg ddi-ras,
  Un hynod gās, o honof;
A dyro galon newydd gig
  I'th garu'n unig ynof.

Y galon lawn meddyliau drwg,
  Dymunaf, dŵg o'm mynwes;
Na ād i'r gyfryw galon ddu
  O'm mewn gael llechu a lloches.
Edward Jones 1761-1836
Caniadau Maes y Plwm 1857

(The Wicked Heart)
O draw the wicked, graceless heart,
  One notably detestable, from me;
And put a new heart of flesh
  To love thee alone within me.

The heart full of wicked thoughts,
  I request, take from my breast;
Do not let the crafty black heart
  Within me get to lurk and lodge.
tr. 2023 Richard B Gillion
