Oh, bless, Lord Jesus, The work of the gracious ministry Which thou hast ordained to preach Thy sending by the Father: Testify about thy incarnation And thy death on the Cross: Testify about thy resurrection And thy ascension, to every age. Through it inspire thy Church, Through it work on the world; Bring an exhausted myriad to rest On thy Atonement and thy costly death. Keep our eyes on thy life, On thy paths keep our feet, Keep our face on the blessedness Thou hast purchased for us with thy precious Blood. Waiting is thy Church above For their brothers on the earth; Waiting for a joyful meeting On the day of the great Resurrection; Waiting for their perfect end, Body and soul in enjoyment; Waiting to return in a procession With Christ to the heavenly land.tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion |
