O canwn fawl i'r Bugail mwyn

(Yn annog i foliannu Duw)
O canwn fawl
    i'r Bugail mwyn,
  Sy'n dwyn ei ŵyn i'w fynwes;
Gan ymgoleddu'r rhai'n o'u bron,
  Yngwres ei galon gynnes.

Gwyn fyd ei braidd, o'r rhai'n ni baidd
  Na llew, na blaidd, na llwynog;
Byth dynnu un er maint eu brad,
  O ddwylo'r Tad galluog.

Gogoniant, moliant mawr, Amen,
  Dros fyth i'n Pen bendigaid;
Y Bugail da, yr hwn a roes
  Ei einioes dros y defaid.
Hymnau Dymunol a Phrofiadol (Harri Sion) 1773

[Mesur: MS 8787]

(Encouraging to praise God)
O let us sing praise
    to the gentle Shepherd,
  Who takes his lambs to his bosom;
Enfolding those completely,
  In the heat of his warm heart.

Blessed his flock, from those dare not
  Either lion, or wolf, or fox;
Ever take one despite their treachery,
  From the hands of the mighty Father.

Glory, great praise, Amen,
  Forever to our blessed Head;
The good Shepherd, him who gave
  His life for the sheep.
