O! Dewch gan wylo gyda mi I ganfod Iesu a'i loes; O! dewch ac wylwn bawb ynghyd - Mae'n Ceidwad ar y groes. Tywalltwn ddagrau'n lli wrth wel'd Y milwyr drwg eu moes, A'r Iuddew dall, yn gwatwar Crist Yn hongian ar y groes. Saith waith llefarodd eiriau dwys, Yn oriau trist ei loes, O gariad pur at enaid dyn, Wrth drengu ar y groes. O deuwch, sefwch wrth Ei groes - Mae rhinwedd yn y gwaed; Cewch weled grym diferion hwn I olohi'r brynta gaed. Tyr'd enaid prudd, tyr'd galon drist, Mae Meddyg it' i'w gael; Mewn calon ddrylliog cariad drig, Mae'r Iesu'n Geidwad hael. O gariad Duw! O bechod dyn! Mawr ymdrech rhyngoch fu; Ond cariad lwyddodd ar y groes Trwy rinwedd Iesu cu.cyf. O come ye weeping with me To find Jesus and his anguish; O come and let us weep all together - Our Saviour is on the cross. Let us pour out tears as a flood on seeing The soldiers of evil conduct, And the blind Jews, mocking Christ Hanging on the cross. Seven times he cried intense words, In the sad hours of his anguish, From pure love towards he soul of man, While dying on the cross. O come ye, stand ye at His cross - There is merit in the blood; Ye may see the force of these drops To wash the dirtiest there is. Come sad soul, come sorrowful heart, There is a Physician for thee to get; In a broken heart of love dwell, Jesus is a generous Saviour. O love of God! O sin of man! Great is the effort that was between you; But love succeeded on the cross Through the merit of dear Jesus.tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion |
O come and mourn with me awhile; And tarry here the cross beside; O come, together let us mourn; Jesus, our Love, is crucified! Have we no tears to shed for Him, While soldiers scoff and foes deride? Ah! look how patiently He hangs; Jesus, our Love, is crucified! Seven times He spoke, seven words of love; And all three hours His silence cried For mercy on the souls of men; Jesus, our Love, is crucified! Come, take thy stand beneath the cross; And let the blood from out His side Fall gently on thee drop by drop; Jesus, our Love, is crucified! A broken heart, a fount of tears, Ask, and they will not be denied; A broken heart love's cradle is: Jesus, our Love, is crucified! O love of God! O sin of man! In this dread act your strength is tried; And victory remains with Love; For He, our Love, is crucified!Frederick W Faber 1814-63
