O distawed y terfysgoedd

(Awn i Fethlem)
O distawed y terfysgoedd,
  Bwried byd ei arf i lawr;
Nac anghofied y cenhedloedd
  Fore geni'r Iesu mawr;
Heibio adfyd a thrueni,
  A gorseddau'n waed i gyd,
Awn i Fethlem i addoli
  Brenin hedd a Cheidwad byd.

Canwyd yno gan angylion
  Ei felysaf anthem Ef,
Dysgir eto i'r afradlon,
  Wrth y preseb gan y nef;
Deil Ei seren i'n blaenori,
  Seren gobaith, Seren ffydd;
Awn i Fethlem i addoli,
  Gyda thoriad gwawr y dydd.

Ni fu Duw erioed mor agos
  At golledig euog ddyn;
Diolch Iddo am ymddangos
  Yn Waredwr byth a lŷn;
Er i lety byd Ei wrthod,
   Daeth a'r nef i'n daear ni;
Awn i Fethlem i'w gyfarfod,
   Ar Ei ffordd i Galfari.
Evan Rees (Dyfed) 1850-1923

[Mesur: 8787D]

O let the tumults be quiet!
  Let the world cast its weapons down!
Let the nation not forget
  The morning of the birth of great Jesus!
Beyond adversity and wretchedness,
  And the thrones all of blood,
Let us go to Bethlehem to worship
  The King of peace and Saviour of the world!

Sung then by angels was
  His sweetest anthem,
To be taught again to the prodigal,
  At the manger by heaven.
His star continues to go before us,
  Star of hope, Star of faith;
Let us go to Bethlehem to worship,
  With the break of the dawn of day.

Never was God so near
  To lost, guilty man;
Thanks to Him for appearing
  As Deliverer who forever will stick;
Although the world's lodging rejected Him,
  He came from heaven to our earth;
Let us go to Bethlehem to meet him,
  On His way to Calvary.
