O Iesu! gwel bechadur gwan, Sy'n fynych dan ei ofnau; Cyflwyno wnaf yn awr i ti, Fy ngweddi a'm gruddfanau. Er cael mwynhau dy ddoniau rhad, A phrofiad o'th ddaioni, Mi gamddefnyddiais, anwyl Ion, Dy aml roddion imi. Pan deimlwyf hyn, yn ddwys, fe ddaw, I'm calon fraw a syndod; 'Rwy'n gwel'd mai cyfiawn yw, bob cam, I'm ochain am fy mhechod. Mi addunedais, lawer pryd, Am barchu'th hyfryd ddeddfau, Ond, wedi hyny, myn'd ar wall, A throi o'th ddiball lwybrau.Robert Williams (Robert ap Gwilym Ddu) 1766-1850 Gardd Eifion 1841 [Mesur: MS 8787] |
O Jesus, see a weak sinner, Who is often subject to fears; Presenting I am now to thee, My prayers and my groans. Despite getting thy free gifts, And an experience of thy goodness, I misused, dear Lord, Thy frequent presents to me. When I feel this, intently, there come To my heart, terror and surprise; I am seeing that right it is, every step, For me to groan for my sin. I vowed, many a time, To revere thy holy laws, But, afterwards, went wrong, And turned from thy unfaltering paths.tr. 2018 Richard B Gillion |
