O rwymau angau/angeu caeth

(Atgyfodiad Crist)
1,(2,3),4.
  O rwymau angeu caeth
    Yn rhydd y daeth Mab Duw;
  Gorchfygu'r bedd a wnaeth
    Mewn buddugoliaeth wiw;
Derbyniodd Ef bob gallu mawr,
Trwy'r ddaear lawr, yn awr o'r nef.

  Cyfododd Brenin hedd,
    Iachawdwr dynol ryw,
  Mewn gogoneddus wedd,
    O'r marwol fedd yn fyw:
Ein bywiol ben esgynnodd fry,
Goruwch pob llu, tu draw i'r llen.

  Daw'r saint
        o lwch y bedd,
    Ar wedd
          eu Priod cu,
  I lawn dragwyddol wledd,
    Mewn gwir orfoledd fry;
Dyrchafant draw
      o'r dyfndr cudd,
Cânt ddod yn rhydd,
      mae'r dydd ger llaw.

  Pan losgo'r ddaear lawr,
    A'i mawredd o bob rhyw,
  Fe genir am yr awr
    Daeth Ef o'i fedd yn fyw:
Bydd cof am hon gan ddisglair lu
Aneirif fry, byth ger ei fron.

(Gorchfygu'r bedd)
O rwymau angeu caeth
  Yn rhydd y daeth Mab Duw;
Gorchfygu'r bedd a wnaeth
  Mewn buddugoliaeth wiw;
Ein blaenor gwiw,
      er myn'd dan glo,
Yr angau, dro, mae eto'n fyw.

Datglôdd y barau dur;
  Dirymodd Iesu'r sêl;
Fe aeth, er gwaeth'r gwŷr,
  A'r frwydyr fawr heb gêl:
Derbyniodd ef bob gallu mawr
  Trwy'r ddaear lawr, yn awr, a'r nef.

(The Resurrection of Christ)

  From the bonds of captive death
    Free came the Son of God;
  Overcome the grave he did
    In a worthy victory;
He received every great power,
Through the earth below, now from heaven.

  The King of peace rose,
    The Saviour of human kind,
  In a glorious likeness,
    From the deadly grave alive:
Our living head ascended above,
High above every host, beyond the curtain.

  The saints shall come
        from the dust of the grave.
    In the likeness of
          their dear Bridegroom,
  To an abundant eternal feast,
    In true rejoicing above;
They shall rise yonder
      from the hidden depth,
They will get to come free,
      the day is at hand.

  When burns the earth below,
    And its greatness of every kind,
  It is to be sung of the hour
    He came from the grave alive:
This will be remembered by a shining throng
Innumerable above, forever before him.

(Overcoming the grave)
  From the bonds of captive death
    Free came the Son of God;
  Overcome the grave he did
    In a worthy victory;
Our worthy antecedent,
      although going under the lock
Of death, for a while, he is alive again.

  He unlocked the steel bars;
    Jesus rendered the seal powerless;
  He went, despite the men,
    And the great unconcealed battle:
He received every great power,
Through the earth below, now, and heaven.
