Ofni'r wyf nas ce's faddeuant

(Yr Enaid ofnog)
Ofni'r wyf nas ce's faddeuant,
  Ac nas caf
      faddeuant mwy,
Ofni'n fynych na che's olwg
  Etto ar dy farwol glwy';
Ofni bod fy meiau'n taro,
  Yn erbyn iachawdwriaeth rād,
Ac na chaiff fy enaid egwan,
  Byth ei olchi yn y gwaed.

Gweled ereill yn trafeilio,
  Fynu fry i ben y bryn,
Mi'n trybaeddu yn y pechod,
  Pechod acw'r pechod hyn;
Gwneyd fy hunan heddyw'n euog,
  Heno'n ceisio difarhau,
Ofni marw sy'n rheoli,
  Etto'n ffaelu ufuddhau.

Annyoddefol ydyw meddwl,
  Marw, heb im' wybod p'un,
A bod dy gyfiawnder perffaith,
  Wrth fy enaid bach y'nglyn;
Dyna'r awr wyf fi'n ei hofni,
  Dyna'r awr yn gyfyng sydd,
Rho i'm nerthoedd y pryd hyny,
  Nes bo im' ddiengu'n rhydd.

Tyred yr awelon hyfryd,
  Tyred dros y bryniau pell,
Tan eich hadain dawel rasol,
  Dygwch y newyddion gwell;
Dygwch newydd at fy enaid,
  Fy enw inau yno gaed,
Dedwydd enw'n argraffedig,
  Yn yr iachawdwriaeth rād.

(The fearful Soul)
Fearing I am I did not get forgiveness,
  And that I will not get
      forgiveness any more,
Fearing often I have not had a view
  Yet of thy mortal wound;
Fearing that my sins are striking,
  Against free salvation,
And that my weak soul will not get
  Ever washed in the blood.

Seeing others labouring,
  Up above to the top of the hill,
I wallowing in the sin,
  That sin of this sin;
To make myself today guilty,
  Tonight seeking to repent,
Fearing death which is ruling,
  Still failing to obey.

Insufferable is the thought,
  Of dying, without my knowing whether,
Thy perfect righteousness be
  Connected with my little soul;
That is the hour I am fearing,
  That is the hour which is in straits,
Give me strengths at this time,
  Until I be escaping freely.

Come ye delightful breezes,
  Come across the distant hills,
Under your quiet, gracious wings,
  Bring the better news;
Bring news to my soul,
  Let my own name be found there,
A happy name engraved,
  In the free salvation.
