Pa dafod dyn all draethu'n llawn, Neu dafod Seraff uwch ei ddawn, Ddyfnderoedd cariad Iesu Glān! Er llenwi'r ddaear faith a'r nef Gan adsain mawl ei gariad Ef, Mae'n lletach, dyfnach, uwch na'u cān. Gostyngiad oedd i'w gariad Ef Gofleidio Sereiff pur y nef, Mor uchel ydoedd rhagor hwy; Ond caru dynol lwch y llawr, Fy ngharu i, bechadur mawr, O dyma Gariad canmil mwy! O! serch didrai! O! Gariad rhad! Mil mwy na chariad mam na thad! Pa dāl amdano byth a wnawn? Am i Ti'n gynta'n caru ni, Grist, carwn ninnau'n ōl Dydi; Gwna ni o'th Gariad oll yn llawn. Pa wrthrych arall dan y ne' A gār fy nghalon ond Efe? Mae'n deilwng o'm serchiadau i gyd; Aghofiaf dai a thir fy ngwlad, A brawd a chwaer, a mam a thad, A'r Iesu'n unig gaiff fy mryd. Nesāf at Fwrdd ei Swper Ef I ymborthi ar ddanteithion nef, Ynghyd ā'm brodyr ar y llawr, Gan ddisgwyl cyfranogi fry Yng nhariad-wledd ei nefol Dŷ, A'm pwys ar fynwes Iesu mawr. Dyddyfna, Iesu, f'enaid tlawd Oddiwrth ddeniadau'r byd a'r cnawd, A ffrwyna'm nwydau dwg bob un; O hoelia 'nghariad wrth dy groes, A gwna fi, tra parhao f'oes Yn "Ddysgybl anwyl" it' dy Hun. What tongue of man can expound fully, Or tongue of Seraph of higher ability, The depths of the love of Holy Jesus! Despite filling the vast earth and heaven With the echo of the praise of His love, It is wider, deeper, higher than their song. There was a humbling to His love Which embraced the pure Seraphim of heaven, So highly was it superior to them; But loving the human dust of the earth, Loving me, a great sinner, O here is Love a hundred thousand times greater! O unebbing affection! O free Love! A thousand times greater than love of mother or father! How shall we hold on to it forever? Because Thou first loved us, Christ, we too will love Thee in return; Make us of thy love all full. What other object under heaven Shall my heart love but Him? He is worthy of all my affections; I will forget the houses and land of my country, And brother and sister, and mother and father, And Jesus alone shall have my attention. I will draw near to the Table of His Supper To feed on the delicacies of heaven, Together with my brothers here below, While waiting to partake above In the love-feast of his heavenly House, And lean on the breast of great Jesus. Wean, Jesus, my poor soul From the attractions of the world and the flesh, And rein my evil lusts every one; O nail my love to thy cross, And make me, while my life endures Into "A beloved disciple" to thee Thyself! We too, O Christ, will love thee To feed :: I will feed tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion |
