Crist i'r enaid profiadol) Pan fyddo'r Priod-Fab trwy serch, I'r Briod-Ferch yn rhoddi Gysonaidd fwyn gusanau'i fin, Mae'n well nâ'r gwîn i'n llonni. O gwelwch! profwch gariad rhâd, A roes y Tad i ddynion Anheilwng gwael, di-fraint, di-fri! I'n gwneuthur ni yn feibion. Mae cariad Crist yn well na gwin, I'r grasol fin mae'n fywyd; Mae'i flâs yn well nâ'r manna'r mel, Trwy ddi-dwyll fel yr Yspryd. Ni gawn weled nad yw'r clod, A roed erio'd i'r Iesu Mewn geiriau dynion goreu'u dawn, Ddim hanner iawn i hynny. Gwyn fyd y bobol uchlaw neb, Sy'n gwel'd ei wyneb hawddgar; Gwyn fyd ei weision, mawr eu braint, O fwynhau cymmaint ffafar. O na b'ai gwedd ei wyneb gwiw, (Ei lais a'i liw dymunol) Yn gwedd-newidio pawb o'i blant, I'r un gogoniant nefol! Rhinweddau'r cariad hwn y fydd, Trwy dduwiol ffydd ddiffuant Yn rhoddi i'r plant eu hawl eu hun, A rhan o'r un gogoniant. O carwn Dduw uwchlaw'r holl fyd, Mewn pur-ffydd fywyd perffaith, Gan ddisgwyl am ei Fab o'r nef, I'w weled ef yr ailwaith!John Henry (Harri Sion) 1664-1754 Amryw Hymnau Dymunol a Phrofiadol 1773 [Mesur: MS 8787] |
Christ to the experienced soul) When the Bridegroom through affection, To the Bride is giving The gentle comforting kisses of his lips, It is better than wine to cheer us. O see ye! Experience the free love, That the Father gave to unworthy Base, unprivileged, men of no repute! To make us sons. The love of Christ is better than wine, To the gracious lip it is life; Its taste is better that the manna of honey, Through the sincere honey of the Spirit. We may see that no acclaim, Ever given to Jesus In the words of the most talented men, Is by any means half as good as this. Blessed are the people above any, Who see his beautiful face; Blessed are his servants, great their privilege, Of enjoying so much favour. O that the countenance of his worthy face, (His voice and his amiable appearance) Would transform all of his children, To the same heavenly glory! The merits of this love shall be, Through godly, sincere faith, Giving to the children their own right, And a portion of the same glory. O let us love God above all the world, In the pure faith of a perfect life, While waiting for his Son from heaven, To see him the second time!tr. 2024 Richard B Gillion |
