Pa'm mae'r Iuddewon â'u holl rym,
Rhufeinwyr â'u cleddyfau llym:
  Yn codi'n erbyn Arglwydd nef,
  I ladd ei 'Neiniog anwyl ef?

Why are the Jews with all their force,
Romans with their sharp swords:
  Rising against the Lord of heaven,
  To kill his dear Anointed One?

   Rising against the Lord of Heaven,
   To kill his true anointed one?]

"His bonds let us break," say they,
"We will not have his laws any more;"
  Thus Christ our head was rejected,
  And the King was nailed on the tree.

But God, the one who is reigning above,
Laughs to scorn their bold pride;
  He will fill their breasts with terror,
  By saying in thunder from yonder,

"My King I will establish despite this,
And his throne above on Zion hill:
  I will raise him from dead to alive;
  He shall get forever to rule human kind."

And his rising from his grave alive,
Is confirming that he is everlasting God;
  "My Son is he," says the Lord of Heaven,
  "Today have I begotten him."

"Come, ascend to my right hand,
And ask; I myself shall give yonder
  All the nations as thy portion,
  They shall bow to thee in every place."

But stubborn, hateful generations
Who are withstanding Christ and his grace;
  With his sceptre of iron
      he shall them break
  Like clay pots in a short time.

Now be ye wise, kings of the world; Worship God the Lamb in time: Put crowns down at his feet; Fear cheerfully his great name. Kiss ye the Song of high degree, Lest he be keenly wrathful, and kill you: His anger shall burn none knows to where, If ye arouse his jealousy. His anger shall turn you to abundant hell; Since he is God, and ye but dust: Blessed are those who know him, And on his grace give true, strong faith.

  "This man shall never give us laws;"
And thus they cast his yoke away,
  And nail'd the monarch to the cross.

But God, who high in glory reigns,
  Laughs at their pride, their rage controls;
He'll vex their hearts with inward pains,
  And speak in thunder to their souls.

"I will maintain the King I made
  On Zion's everlasting hill,
My hand shall bring him from the dead,
  And he shall stand your sovereign still."

His wondrous rising from the earth
  Makes his eternal Godhead known!
The Lord declares his heavenly birth,
  This day have I begot my Son.

"Ascend, my Son, to my right hand,
  There thou shalt ask, and I bestow
The utmost bounds of heathen lands;
  To thee the northern isles shall bow."

But nations that resist his grace
  Shall fall beneath his iron stroke;
His rod shall crush
    his foes with ease
  As potters' earthen work is broke.

Now, ye that sit on earthly thrones, Be wise, and serve the Lord, the Lamb; Down at his feet submit your crowns, Rejoice and tremble at his name. With humble love address the Son, Lest he grow angry and ye die; His wrath will burn to worlds unknown If ye provoke his jealousy. His storms shall drive you quick to hell: He is a God, and ye but dust: Happy the souls that know him well, And make his grace their only trust.
