Pa'm bydd i blant y Brenin mawr
  Fyn'd yn alarus ddyddiau'u hoes?
Ddiddanydd nefol tyr'd i lawr,
  Arwyddion mwy o'th gariad moes.

Ond trigo yn dy saint 'rwyt ti,
  A'u selio'n blant
      i Dduw y wnai;
Gyrr ymaith fy amheuaeth i,
  A dangos faddeu fy holl fai.

Rho i'm cydwybod eglurhad
  O'i rhan yng ngwa'd
      fy Mhrynwr byw,
A thystia gyd â ng'halon i,
  Fy mod i wedi ngeni o Dduw.

Yr ernes wyt o'i gariad 'fo
  A'r gwystl o lawenydd nef;
Colommen Duw, a'th aden fwyn,
  A gaiff fy nwyn yn iach i dref.

Why will the children of the great King
  Go mourning all the days of their life?
Heavenly Comforter, come down,
  Give greater signs of thy love.

But dwelling in thy saints art thou,
  And sealing them as children
      to God thou dost;
Drive away my doubt,
  And show forgiveness for all my fault.

Give my conscience an explanation
  Of its part in my living
      Redeemer's blood,
And testify with my heart,
  That I have been born of God.

The earnest thou art of his love
  And the guarantee of the joy of heaven;
Dove of God, with thy dear wing,
  I shall be brought safe home.

Why should the children of a King
  Go mourning all their days?
Great Comforter, descend, and bring
  Some tokens of thy grace.

Dost thou not dwell in all the saints,
  And seal the
      heirs of heaven?
When wilt thou banish my complaints
  And show my sins forgiven?

Assure my conscience of her part
  In the Redeemer's
      blood;
And bear thy witness with my heart
  That I am born of God.

Thou art the earnest of his love,
  The pledge of joys to come;
And thy soft wings, celestial Dove,
  Will safe convey me home.
