Pryderus wyf o awr i awr

(Iesu yn Arweinydd)
Pryderus wyf o awr i awr
Yn nyfnder nos
    y cystudd mawr;
  Ond mae fy ngobaith ynot Ti,
  O! dirion Iesu, arwain fi.

Er dal yn gyndyn ac yn ffôl,
A phleser gau yn tynnu'n ôl,
  O wagedd byd
      a'i holl ystaen,
  O! dirion Iesu, dwg fi 'mlaen.

Mae hiraeth ar fy nghalon friw
Am hyfryd wleddoedd
    cariad Duw;
  Yng ngwlad y newyn, dan fy mhla,
  O! dirion Iesu, trugarha.

O! plyg fi'n isel wrth dy draid
Nes profi rhin
    haeddiannau'r gwaed;
  I dŷ fy Nhad,
      trwy dân a lli,
  O! dirion Iesu, arwain fi.

    St Clement (Clement C Scholefield 1839-1904)

(Jesus as Guide)
Worried I am from hour to hour
In the depth of the night
    of the great tribulation;
  But my hope is in Thee,
  O tender Jesus, lead me!

Although stubborn and foolish,
With vain pleasure pulling back,
  From the emptiness of the world
      and all its tin,
  O tender Jesus, draw me onwards!

There is longing on my bruised heart
For the delightful feasts
    of the love of God;
  In the land of hunger, under my plague,
  O tender Jesus, have mercy!

O bow me low at thy feet
Until I experience the virtue
    of the merits of the blood;
  To my Father's house,
      through fire and flood,
  O tender Jesus, lead me!
tr. 2016 Richard B Gillion
